Rush Creek, California
The June Lake area is loaded with a wide variety of outdoor opportunities. Fishing, more specifically fly
fishing, has become one of the most popular activities after the snow melts along the June Lake Loop. Rush
Creek is one of the many fisheries that draw fly fishers from all around the world.

Rush Creek flows through the north end of the June Lake Loop out of Grant Lake and into Mono Lake.
There are multiple places to fish along June Lake Loop to Hwy 395 and between the Hwy 395 bridge to
Mono Lake.
Rush Creek has a variety of fly fishing opportunities, from overhanging bushes and trees, to wide open runs
with rock lined banks. The creek is regularly planted and have rainbows and browns. There are special
regulations for Rush Creek, including artificial lures, barbless hooks, and catch and release only.

A little story about regulations. We have fished a lot over the years and have rarely been asked to show our
license. Wherever we fish, we are acutely aware of regulations and following the rules. We were checked
twice within 5 days by the same ranger. He must not have recognized us from the first time.
