Virginia Creek, California
Virginia Creek is one of the most picturesque spots the Virtual Fly Guides have ever fished. Surrounded by
rugged mountain peaks,Virginia Creek meanders through a large meadow and at times snakes
through stands of tall pines. Virginia Creek flows out of the Virginia Lakes and what's called Virginia Lakes
Settlement.

The settlement is a location for families looking for mountain activities, canoing, swimming, hiking, and an
old west setting. The fish are all small, but will definitely challenge your dry fly presentation.
Virginia Creek is near the town of Bridgeport, CA in the Eastern Sierras. To find this little gem, take the
Virginia Lakes turn off on Hwy 395, south of Bridgeport. Approximately 6 miles from Hwy 395, you will
begin entering the Virginia Lakes Settlement. Before you arrive in the settlement, turn left on Road 139 and
park near the campground.

There are brook trout, brown trout, and rainbows in Virginia Creek, with brookies being the most prolific.
Shallow runs and cut banks make this small creek a dry fly haven. Bring light tippets and a light rod to
present those delicate dry flies.
